Judges Information
Attached are the Judges’ Cup assignments, the meet schedule & the agenda for the open meeting. You will receive a separate email by the end of the weekend with your hotel confirmation number. Please contact me immediately if you have any concerns. judgescupsharon@gmail.com or 630-220-2485. Please review to make sure you are not doing 2 jobs at once or I have left you out altogether in a session. Also let me know if you don’t receive your hotel confirmation number by the end of today or if the nights you have a room are incorrect.
If you would like to be reimbursed for your mileage, please bring a printout of google maps or mapquest & give to Sue Woloszyk. NO PRINTING OF MILEAGE AT JUDGES’ CUP!!!
Competition is at Adventure Commons 70 Ken Hayes Drive, Bourbonnais.
Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bourbonnais East-Bradley
1000 Freedom Drive, Bourbonnais. Right across from the meet site.
Everyone will receive a crewneck or hooded sweatshirt. Please see Heather or myself when you upon arrival. After you complete your W-9, you will receive your sweatshirt for the weekend. Please wear this each day (or the gray Judges’ Cup quarter-zip you received last year) with black pants or leggings. If you don’t have black pants, then please wear your navy judging pants. NO JEANS.
Please arrive at your report time each day & initial the sign-in sheet. Benefits will start at your report time provided you are on time. The meet referee will write in your end time each day. The sign-in sheet will be located at a small table next to the scoring table.
We would appreciate it if you can bring any leftover Halloween candy for the judges’ tables.
Dinner on Friday night, lunch & dinner on Saturday night & lunch on Sunday will be served in the hospitality room at the meet. Breakfast is provided each day at the hotel so please eat breakfast there before heading over to the meet each morning.
The IL NAWGJ Open Meeting will be at 7:00pm on the Saturday night in the Judges’ room at Adventure Commons. All members are welcome!
Below is a brief description of the jobs you will see listed. If you have any questions at all about anything you are assigned to do, please feel free to reach out to me.
Admissions: Report to Sue Woloszyk & ask whether she would like you at the admissions table or sitting upstairs policing people to make sure they have a wristband.
T-Shirts: Sit at a table next to Gym Treasures & mark gymnasts names off on a list that will be provide to you as you hand each gymnast their t-shirt.
Announcer: Play floor music & make announcements.
Critique: Amy Delaney & Renee Tubbs will instruct critiquers at the beginning of the 1st session each day. So if you are critiquing, look for Amy & Renee at the report time for the 1st session of that day.
Judge 3: Judge the routine but score is not entered. Then discuss scores with head judge during warm-up time.
Timer: Time either the warm-ups or the routine. Your head judge will instruct you.
WU Timer: Only for the 2nd session Friday night which is modified capitol cup. You will time the warm-ups on one set of equipment while gymnasts are competing on the other set of equipment.
Inputer: Enter the scores the judges have into the inputing device.
Hospitality: Keep the room tidy, fill the drinks as needed, help with set-up & take down of the meals. Make sure burners are turned off at the end of each meal.
Awards: Assist Tracey Rogers in handing out awards at the end of the session.
This is our only fundraiser for IL NAWGJ we have each year. So whether you are judging, helping in hospitality, admissions, t-shirts, announcing, critiquing, inputing, doing awards or something else, thank you!!! We couldn’t make this meet successful without all of you.
